Live Relink
The live relink set of preferences allow you to temporarily point a part of your path(or a top level path) somewhere else.
Let’s say your original harddrive is called “Sound Library”, and you have a folder in there called “MySounds”. You are travelling somewhere and want to hookup a cheap USB drive that is called “Portable Drive”, and still has the same folder hierarchy as your home drive. You can set the preference to look for files at this new location if it fails to find the original filepath. Soundminer will try to link up to FLAC versions of soundfiles as well if wav files are missing. So you could have a portable FLAC drive that you used Soundminer to mirror to, and keep the same database, but just relink…
