Spot to ProTools in Windows

Its confirmed that Soundminer is working with the latest(as of this writing) version of ProTools 12.6.1. The first thing to check is the DAW menu is set to ProTools. Then check UAC(User Account Settings) and make sure notifications aren’t turned on. For some reason that stops the XML message from getting to ProTools.

The final thing to try, is to run SMHD+ as Administrator. Its not enough to be logged in as administrator, but rather you want to right click on SMHD+ and run as Administrator. Having UAC turned off is supposed to make this unnecessary…but this ‘fix’ is working for users that are running into it. We came about this by looking at the Soundminer Logs (inside %APPDATA%\Soundminer) and seeing an error message of 5 which is ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. Not sure if the user was running ProTools in an elevated state, but this worked for them.
