Swapping to Soundminer is slow

Your spotting panel is probably huge… or left open to display lots of items..

Whenever you swap back and forth it refreshes things.

In short if you don’t use the spotting panel then in the hammer and wrench turn it off and delete the Spotting folder in

~/Library/Application Support/Soundminer/

It used to be whenever you transferred a file it added it to the top level of the spotting panel, so that’s probaby what’s happened… Now it throws everything into an unsorted folder, but if you don’t want to track every sound you transfer its best to turn it off. You can still explicitly tag files into a spotting folder.

Another file to delete is the smmetrics.sqlite file in the same folder, this just keeps a list of transfers that you have made for later display… but again, if you don’t use it, its safe to delete.
